University of Helsinki Tuition Fee Waivers 2027 (Master's, Finland)

University of Helsinki

About the opportunity

About the scholarship

The University of Helsinki scholarship programme grants tuition fee waivers to excellent non-EU/EEA students admitted to its international master's programmes starting autumn 2027. Most waivers cover 50% of the tuition fee; a smaller number cover 100%. This is a tuition waiver only: the university does not offer scholarships to cover living expenses, so plan your own funding for living costs in Finland.

What it covers

50% or 100% waiver of the tuition fee (tuition is EUR 13,000 to 18,000 per year)
Granted for two years, provided you complete at least 55 credits per academic year

Key dates

Application period for studies starting autumn 2027: 5 to 19 January 2027

There is no separate scholarship form: you apply for the waiver in the same application as the master's programme

Application fee: EUR 100 for non-EU applicants (no waiver)

How to apply

Apply through the University of Helsinki admissions portal during the application period
https://www.helsinki.fi/en/admissions-and-education/apply-bachelors-and-masters-programmes/tuition-fees-and-scholarship-programme.

Eligibility

Citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland, liable for tuition fees
Eligible for the chosen international master's programme
Excellent prior academic results; motivation letter is considered
Waiver is awarded only at admission; continuation requires 55 ECTS per year
